Growing up sorrounded by art and artists it was inescapable that at some point in my life the need to create art would become an obsession.  I pursued a career in the sciences and have managed an organic diversified farm for the last 20 years. I kept always going back to drawing, painting, and creating  beautiful objects.   I am now shortening my farming season in order to focus more on pottery and painting.More about my work.

My approach
II love to create art in a very loose style. Impressionist art is a very important influence on my paintings. I like watercolor that is expressive and not overworked with detail.

I love pottery that is unique and conveys the hand of the artist. I mostly mix my own glazes and see the pottery as a canvas for layering different colors and textures. My pottery is functional dinnerware and items meant to be used all the time  and enjoyed by the user.
